Section 24(2) of the Unit Titles Act (NT) prohibits a body corporate from leasing common property (except in the case of an estate development), notwithstanding that the section uses the word 'sub-let' rather than 'leased'. The Registrar-General may refuse to register a lease of common property on this basis. The word 'sub-let' is to be read as 'leased' to correct a drafting error arising from the adoption of the ACT precedent legislation.
