The second proposition in Oakley, properly understood, means that a plaintiff is not entitled to damages for any injury caused by a subsequent accident which is unconnected to the original injury, but is entitled to damages for any additional injury caused by the subsequent accident because of the original injury. The proposition does not connote that the subsequent injury must be causally more significant than the original injury.
