In determining penalty for civil contempt by disobedience of a court order, the court will take into account both the fact of eventual compliance and the length of delay in achieving compliance, with longer delay attracting more severe penalty. Pursuit of strategies aimed at reversing the effect of a court order rather than complying with it will be viewed unfavourably.
