A corporation's knowledge for the purposes of the tort of inducing breach of contract includes the knowledge of former officers and employees; the corporation cannot shed knowledge by shedding people. Where a current officer acts on a genuine belief that no contract exists, that belief is of no assistance if the corporation, through the knowledge of former officers, knew the belief was wrong. Both the contract breaker and the tortfeasor who induced the breach may be sued to judgment for the same damages, subject to no double recovery. A finding of inducing breach of contract carries with it a finding of causation of the loss flowing from the breach.
