An exclusion clause in an exhibition contract that excludes liability for 'damages to exhibits by loss, damage, theft, fire, flood, water, storms, strikes, riots or any other cause whatever' and requires the exhibitor to arrange insurance covers loss from the organiser's negligence and extends to total loss by theft, not merely diminution in value. Parties may validly agree to exclude the contra proferentem rule of construction.
