Acquittal of a co-accused on the same counts does not render the conviction of the other accused inconsistent where the evidence against each accused differed in strength, particularly where the complainant's own evidence tended to exculpate the co-accused. A jury's pattern of convictions and acquittals may be reconciled by inferring that the jury accepted a witness as generally truthful but required supporting evidence before acting on that witness's testimony.
