An appellate court will not interfere with a trial judge's factual findings on liability where there was evidence the judge was entitled to accept, even where the defendant's witnesses gave a different account of events. A trial judge's assessment of damages components, including allowances for future prostheses with discounts for contingencies, will not be disturbed where each component is within a proper range.
