A representation expressly limited as to a particular date (e.g., 'as at 16 November 1989') is not a continuing representation and does not impose a duty on the representor to correct it if circumstances change before the contract is entered into. The prima facie rule that a representation continues until the contract is completed is a presumption of fact that may be displaced by the terms of the representation, lapse of time, and intervening circumstances known to the representee. A representee cannot rely on its own reinterpretation of a representation if that interpretation does not accord with the true sense conveyed by the representation.
