A s 165 Evidence Act 1995 (NSW) warning about the unreliability of evidence due to age is not required for a complainant approaching 15 years of age giving evidence about events within the last one to two years. Following s 164(3) of the Evidence Act 1995, trial judges are no longer required to give formal corroboration directions defining corroboration or identifying what evidence is capable of amounting to corroboration.
