The suspension of parole by the Parole Board does not constitute a prior conviction or penalty for the purposes of double jeopardy and does not deprive a criminal court of jurisdiction to try the offences that gave rise to the parole suspension. A failure to credit a trivial period of pre-sentence custody (16 days) does not render a sentence manifestly excessive where the offences are serious and the offender has an extensive criminal history.
