Where expert evidence supporting demolition and reconstruction is not challenged by cross-examination, a trial judge is entitled to accept that evidence and award damages on a demolition and reconstruction basis. The failure to cross-examine expert witnesses will be treated as an acceptance of their evidence, and a party cannot later complain on appeal about the acceptance of unchallenged expert evidence. The adequacy of judicial reasons depends on the circumstances of the particular case, including how the case was conducted before the trial judge.
