A safeguarding condition in a travellers' cheque purchase agreement requiring the purchaser to safeguard cheques as she would a similar amount of her own cash requires comparison between the actual situation of the cheques and a hypothetical situation of cash of the same value and bulk at the same time and place. The condition does not permit the issuer to argue that the purchaser would not have been carrying that amount of cash in the first place, as such a construction would defeat the main object and intent of the contract.
