Where goods are damaged during road transport outside an airport boundary, the Warsaw Convention's liability limitation does not apply, but a contractual limitation in the house airway bill (such as the standard IATA clause 4 limiting liability to USD 20 per kilogram) applies to the road leg as carriage to which the Convention does not apply. A contract for air carriage that provides for delivery at a destination outside the airport extends to the road transport leg and cannot be construed as terminating at the airport boundary.
