The term 'subsidiary company' in an insurance policy extending cover beyond the named insured is confined to its ordinary meaning of a company controlled by another company, and does not extend to companies owned or controlled by an individual. Where the named insured is an individual, the subsidiary company extension clause has no operation. The contra proferentem rule does not apply where the term is unambiguous.
