Non-monetary benefits such as free food, accommodation and electricity provided as part of a worker's employment package are 'remuneration earned by the worker' under s 49(d)(ii) of the Work Health Act (NT) and are not 'allowances' excluded by s 49(2). The 26-week period under s 64(1) commences from the date of incapacity for work, not from the date the worker first suffers actual economic loss; where a partially incapacitated worker continues to be paid normal weekly earnings, the 26-week period runs but no compensation is payable during that time.
