The Queensland Court of Appeal held that admissions of other sexual misconduct made by the appellant were admissible as part of the res gestae and the trial judge did not err in failing to exclude them. The Court also held that clear directions to the jury were sufficient to address any prejudice from a newspaper report published during the trial, and that the trial judge had adequately taken into account the appellant's medical condition in sentencing. Both the appeal against conviction and the application for leave to appeal against sentence were dismissed.
