An appeal lies to the Court of Appeal from a determination of a single judge of the Trial Division made on a Director's appeal under s.18A of the Bail Act 1977 (Vic). The earlier decision in Beljajev, which held that no such appeal lay, is no longer good law following the High Court's decision in Roy Morgan Research Centre. Both the accused person and the Director have appellate rights, though the Director requires leave under s.17A(4)(b) of the Supreme Court Act 1986.
