Where the risk of slipping on a steep wet driveway is obvious to all visitors, the driveway was constructed from materials in common use, alternative safe access is available, and the history of slipping over many years is minimal, a homeowner does not breach the duty of care by failing to install steps, handrails, or surface treatments. The fact that a homeowner applied a surface treatment after an accident does not establish that it should have been done earlier.
