In liquidation proceedings where a proof of debt is admitted or rejected, the statutory financial threshold for appeals as of right under s 101(2)(r) of the Supreme Court Act 1970 is determined by the amount of the proof of debt, not the likely dividend. Failure to obtain leave under s 471B of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) before filing an appeal does not render the appeal incompetent, as leave may be granted nunc pro tunc.
