When legal advisers detect an obvious slip in a court order, they should promptly bring it to the Court's attention regardless of which party benefits from the error. A party that unreasonably refuses to acknowledge an obvious error in its favour will not be rewarded by the Court declining to exercise the slip rule, even after significant delay. Delay of over four years did not bar correction of an obvious slip in a costs order.
