Under s.52(3) of the Accident Compensation Act 1985, an appeal on a question of law from the County Court is validly initiated by filing (lodging) the notice of appeal with the Court of Appeal Registry within six months; service on the respondent need not occur within that period but must be effected within a reasonable time after lodgement.
