A verdict of conspiracy to import heroin may be sustained on circumstantial evidence consisting entirely of telephone intercepts, listening device recordings and surveillance, even where no specific drug is mentioned in any intercepted conversation, where the co-conspirators were simultaneously involved in other drug importation schemes, and where the appellant had no direct contact with the FedEx system, the overseas sender, or the delivery premises. The jury is entitled to reason backwards from the arrival of the heroin to interpret the prior communications.
