A notice of appeal filed personally by a represented person while subject to an administration order under the Guardianship and Administration Act 1986 (Vic) is void under s 52. An administrator appointed under the Act with power to conduct legal proceedings has statutory authority to compromise those proceedings, and the represented person's remedy for any breach of the administrator's duty under s 49 lies against the administrator in separate proceedings, not by way of appeal from the consent order. The subsequent revocation of an administration order does not retrospectively invalidate actions taken by the administrator while the order was in force.
