Where television broadcasts use sensational graphics, sound effects and dogmatic statements, and pleaded imputations use virtually the exact words of the broadcasts, a jury's rejection of those imputations is likely to be held unreasonable on appeal. The promotional or 'trailer' nature of a broadcast does not justify a finding that the ordinary reasonable viewer would suspend judgment about the defamatory meaning conveyed.
