When sentencing for multiple offences of dangerous driving arising from a single bout of driving, the proper approach is to fix a sentence for each offence without regard to the discrete effects of other offences, and then determine accumulation to reflect totality. Wholly concurrent sentences each aggravated by the multiplicity of consequences is erroneous. An early guilty plea combined with a strong subjective case warrants a discount exceeding 25 per cent.
