On an application to amend a pleading to withdraw an admission, the court will consider the circumstances in which the admission was made, the reason it is sought to be withdrawn, its significance, the time it has stood on the record, and any prejudice to the other side. An admission that has stood for over four years, been affirmed on oath, and for which no satisfactory explanation for withdrawal is given, will not be permitted to be withdrawn where the court concludes the application is tactical rather than based on bona fide error or good cause.
