A sentence equivalent to 10 years pre-transitional provisions (6 years 8 months post-transition) is within range for possession with intent to sell or supply approximately three-quarters of a kilogram of methylamphetamine, where the offender was assessed as being above street-dealer level in the distribution hierarchy and pleaded not guilty. The guilty plea discount of 20-35% must be accounted for when comparing sentences imposed after trial with those imposed on pleas of guilty.
