When sentencing for multiple offences, a court must consider the outcome for all offences before imposing sentence for any one offence, and must not determine to suspend a sentence before first determining the appropriate sentence. A combined discount for plea of guilty and assistance to authorities in excess of 55 per cent is unjustified, and a discount resulting in a sentence unreasonably disproportionate to the offence breaches s 23(3) of the Crimes (Sentencing Procedure) Act 1999.
