A complaint that the sentencing judge gave excessive weight to some factors and inadequate weight to others is not an independent ground of appeal but is merely a conclusion implicit in a finding of manifest excess. The parity principle, even if applicable between co-offenders convicted of different offences, is not breached where the differences in offences, maximum penalties, and personal circumstances of the offenders justify different treatment. The question whether the parity principle applies at all where co-offenders are convicted of offences with vastly different maximum penalties was left open.
