A cascading post-employment restraint clause with multiple severable covenants covering different periods and areas is not void for uncertainty, provided each covenant is capable of being understood and complied with without breach of any other. No mechanism or hierarchy of order of operation is required. There is no single legally required test for assessing the reasonableness of the duration of a restraint period; the approach depends on the facts and the evaluation of what is reasonable in the circumstances. The question left open is whether complex cascading clauses might be struck down on public policy grounds in an appropriate case.
