Serious offences such as armed robbery should not be placed on a Form 1 as this prevents the sentencing judge from imposing a sentence reflecting the seriousness of that offence. Sentencing judges have the power to reject a Form 1 containing inappropriate matters. A 12.5% discount for guilty pleas entered on the day of trial is appropriate and does not give rise to a parity issue with a co-offender who received a higher discount for pleading guilty at an earlier stage.
