The case confirms that supply of drugs to an undercover officer does not of itself significantly reduce objective seriousness, as the fortuitous circumstance that drugs did not reach the community should not have significant bearing on the seriousness assessment. The parity principle applies between co-offenders charged with different offences, but differences in roles and culpability may justify significant differences in sentences. The case also collects and reviews comparable sentences for supply of large commercial quantities of MDMA.
