Contraventions of supervision order conditions that are ancillary to substantive conditions (e.g., visiting licensed premises where the substantive condition is alcohol abstinence) may not warrant rescission and indefinite detention where the substantive conditions have not been breached and psychiatric evidence supports the adequacy of supervised release. The Act does not require 'water tight' arrangements to prevent risk; supervised release should be preferred to continuing detention where supervision is apt to ensure adequate community protection.
