Solicitors engaged by receivers and managers are engaged to act for the receivers, not the companies in receivership, notwithstanding agency clauses in the charge. The receivers are the proper party to assert legal professional privilege over communications from those solicitors. Disclosure of bills of costs and recharge schedules to the companies for the limited purpose of cost allocation does not waive the privilege. Legislation providing for taxation of bills of costs does not impliedly abrogate legal professional privilege over detailed narratives in those bills.
