When sentencing for multiple offences forming part of the same pattern of conduct where there has been significant prosecutorial delay, the accumulation of sentences must be moderated to avoid an excessive total sentence. Rehabilitation steps taken by the offender must be given appropriate weight in determining the extent of accumulation.
