Long service leave payments received by an injured plaintiff while off work are not to be deducted from past economic loss, as they are received by reason of employment entitlements generally and not as a result of the accident. A trial judge may not discount future economic loss for pre-existing conditions where there is no evidence those conditions adversely affected the plaintiff's employment in the past.
