Post-judgment interest does not form part of a 'claim' for the purposes of offers of compromise under r280 of the Supreme Court Rules 2000 (Tas), and statutory post-judgment interest is not to be taken into account when assessing whether a judgment is more or less favourable than the terms of an offer. An offer containing a term staying enforcement during statutory repayment obligations does not thereby become invalid or unreasonable to reject, even if the term could be said to achieve little more than is provided by operation of law.
