The case confirms that delay in complaint of up to 15-18 years, contemporaneous denials of sexual abuse to treating doctors, asserted inconsistencies of degree in collateral matters, and evidence of memory difficulties do not, individually or in combination, necessarily render a conviction for historical child sexual offences unsafe and unsatisfactory where the complainant's evidence is coherent and circumstantial and the jury has been properly directed.
