Where six years elapsed between the commission of rape offences and sentencing, during which the offender voluntarily underwent psychiatric treatment, remarried and formed a stable family, a head sentence of seven years was reduced to six years. The use of stupefying drugs to overcome resistance was treated as comparable in seriousness to the use of threats or violence. The appropriate sentencing range for rape involving administration of stupefying drugs to a former spouse, on a plea of guilty, was held to be six to seven years.
