Time-cost based on standard hourly rates is only one of several factors in assessing liquidator remuneration and is neither the default position nor the dominant factor; the value and nature of property dealt with, proportionality, risk assumed, and value generated must also be considered. Where a liquidator appears to be the dominant beneficiary of the administration, remuneration claims will be closely scrutinised. Liquidators seeking to justify disbursements must provide sufficient detail in invoices to enable court scrutiny; invoices without narrative descriptions of work performed are insufficient.
