The Aon case management principles apply to amendments made under r 378 UCPR (before filing of a request for trial date), not only to amendments requiring leave. However, the weight to be given to those factors varies with the stage of litigation — where disclosure is incomplete and the matter has not been set down for trial, the absence of explanation for delay and the interests of other litigants carry less weight than they would on the eve of trial. Placement on the supervised case list does not of itself oust r 378; the ouster arises only when trial dates are allocated.
