Where it is not practicable for police to provide the information required by s 201(1) of LEPRA before or at the time of exercising a power of entry, the lawfulness of that entry is not contingent on subsequent compliance with s 201(1). The absence of any response when police announce their presence at premises does not, without more, negate reasonable grounds for believing that a person is inside, where prior information (such as police radio broadcasts) provided a sufficient basis for that belief. 'Imminent danger' in s 9(1)(b) of LEPRA means danger likely to happen at any time, not necessarily immediately.
