The Henry guideline range of 4-5 years for s 97(1) armed robbery does not directly apply to s 97(2) offences involving dangerous weapons, and an offender with multiple s 97(2) offences, a firearm, substantial amounts stolen, and a considerable criminal record falls outside the Henry guideline category even where the offender is young with a profoundly deprived background. A starting point of 8 years for individual s 97(2) offences in such circumstances is within the permissible range.
