The exclusion in s 17(1) and the Third Schedule of the Supreme Court Act 1970 (NSW) does not prevent the Court of Appeal from exercising supervisory jurisdiction under s 69 over District Court criminal proceedings, following Adler. The Children's Court is not a 'specified tribunal' under s 48(1), so challenges to Children's Court orders must be brought in the Divisions of the Supreme Court, not the Court of Appeal. Where mandatory committal procedures under s 31 of the CCP Act have been entirely bypassed due to legal error, there is at least an arguable basis for a stay of the resulting District Court trial, notwithstanding PM v The Queen.
