A sentencing judge who rejects an offender's exculpatory evidence on the basis of inherent improbability is not required to specify every particular of the story found to be improbable. The Soulemezis v Dudley standard for adequacy of reasons applies to sentencing proceedings, including where a judge assesses the plausibility of an offender's account.
