When partially accumulating a sentence on existing sentences, a sentencing judge is not obliged to reduce the sentence to achieve a 75% non-parole period to total sentence ratio. However, where the effective ratio exceeds 75%, the sentencing judge should demonstrate awareness of the accumulation's effect, and the absence of such awareness may give rise to an inference that the practical effect was overlooked.
