Where a child complainant's police statement contains imprecise language that could be construed as referring to uncharged acts, a trial judge is not required to give a specific direction about that language where doing so would unnecessarily draw the jury's attention to it, provided appropriate general directions on uncharged acts have been given. The approach in R v GAP is confirmed.
