A non-party who has been made subject to costs orders has standing to appeal those costs orders but lacks standing to challenge orders made against the actual party to the proceeding. A power of attorney does not authorise the donee to represent the donor in legal proceedings where such representation is prohibited by the Legal Profession Act 2004 (Vic). Confirmatory orders do not restart time for appealing the original orders confirmed.
