The Supreme Court refused leave to appeal and an extension of time in respect of a speeding conviction, holding that arguments based on the fiction that a natural person possesses multiple separate legal personalities are 'pseudolegal gibberish' with no reasonable prospect of success. The Court confirmed that where an accused fails to appear, the Magistrates Court is entitled under s 55(4)(b) of the Criminal Procedure Act 2004 (WA) to take as proven the allegations in the prosecution notice, and that such allegations were sufficient to establish each element of the offence.
