Fear of detection and consequences of crime, including threats by a co-offender's associate to inform on the offender, does not constitute a mitigating factor in sentencing. Evidence of stress and distress from a domestic relationship, without a diagnosed mental health condition or evidence satisfying the Verdins thresholds, is insufficient to establish reduced moral culpability. Further evidence on appeal will not be admitted where it could not have produced a different result, particularly where the appellant was legally represented at the sentencing hearing.
